CellTales:
3rd mobile phone content development workshop
Metro Screen is offering a five day digital storytelling workshop
CellTales¹ August 23 September 4 . Be taught how to use Apple¹s iLife
suite and produce your own two to three minute personal audio/visual work.
Using Apples iLife suite, photos, moving images, voice over and music you
will be taught:
· Digital storytelling
· Asset acquisition techniques and methodologies [how to take photos,
scanning photos and recording sound]
· Video editing
· Web authoring
· DVD creation
· Compression and conforming for distribution to mobile phones, and
upload to the web
Prerequisites for participation include:
· Solid idea for a two to three minute personal story about events,
phenomena, places, people or yourself
· Photographs and artefacts relevant to the story
· A digital camera if you have one, 3 g cell phone [both not
essential]
· Basic computer literacy
The work you will create will become your mobile phone and web
transmittable/viewable personal digital story, where your anecdotes and
images combine to be viewed instantly around the globe via mobile phone, and
the web.
This workshop provides participants the opportunity to tell their personal

We want to offer you the chance to share a personal story in a way that is
not constrained by time and analogue technologies, and can be experienced on
multiple viewing platforms of your choosing.
This workshop is for all ages and backgrounds, with a maximum class size of
11. Worth $1200 this workshop is highly subsidies by the NSWFTO and Metro
Screen offers it to you for just $190, a saving of almost 80%.
Application deadline is 5pm August 21. Workshop dates and times are Wedneday
23 August 1:30pm- 5:30pm, Saturday 26 August 9:30am 2pm, 28 (Mon) + 29
(Tues) + 30 (Wed) August 9am to 5:30pm. & Monday September 4.
