yes, I think u should, otherwise how can u write about something if
you haven't experienced it.

I've only been using it for around a month or so, so am a late adopter
on this system. though I did think of signing up a while ago but
already had too many websites to keep track of.

it's strange, most of my contacts/friends are also on myspace but
there seems to be more conversations on FB, but perhaps that's because
I haven't been there long. I think the external apps are an advantage
with FB as there's always something new u can add, though I suspect
I'll tire of this soon.

I use it to be able to contact/keep in touch with friends and people
in the music/arts community from one place (rather 2 - myspace & FB).
I've moved o/s and don't get to see them in person, or even catch up
at festivals as often (eg tina/electrofringe), similarly when I'd
moved interstate to syd, I eventually lost track of some people that
I'd hung around when I went out in bris.

we used to all gather on a message board (spraci) (& see each other
when out & about of course). but after a while there was some trouble
and people moved over to other boards/internet spaces (as they still
do now as they all have different other interests apart from the one I
have in common with them). so FB/myspace is a good way of finding them
all in one spot. I can send a quick note to see how they are and find
out what they're working on now, or say they should speak to this
other person as they're working on similar things. also, with the
other apps, there's other sides to them that I see that I wasn't aware
of, eg the movies etc. it feels a bit like going back to school
sometimes.

Julian, I also have other friends who were not from arts/music
communities & work friends too - it is an interesting question now
that they're all together on FB & myspace, but it's similar for flickr
too. definitely they were separated before except for a few
crossovers, and I am one one of those who usually uses a different
name for projects and on the net. I suppose I did this to definitely
separate work and home things years ago and it just carried on over
the years. there's a little confusion sometimes as some people only
know me by my net name, home friends by my real name. (but it's not a
big problem)

I suppose for me, FB & myspace have kept the conversations going so it
seems like I'm not away from home. & when u start to get homesick,
this is important (for me at least). I'm not sure if this is how other
people use it though.
